Curator Review & Historical Significance

Los Corraleros de Majagual are impossible to overstate in cumbia history. Their innovative lineup · two accordions, brass instruments, and a rotating cast of Colombia's greatest folk musicians · transformed cumbia from simple folk music to a mass audience phenomenon. Released on Discos Fuentes (1962). The Vinyl Factory: 'wall-to-wall classics'. Tracks still used at Caribbean coast parties today.
